M.D. Blend's Sleep Contains:

Melatonin.

Widely known for its calming and relaxing effects, natural melatonin production isn’t sufficient to overcome the stress and stimulation many of us experience on a regular basis. Augmenting with lower levels of this hormone is complementary to natural thymus and pineal gland production.

Valerian Extract.

Often referred to as “God’s natural Valium®,” this botanical extract has been studied to be safe and effective at increasing high levels of GABA, a neurotransmitter that attenuates stress and anxiety, thus promoting sleep and restfulness.

Chamomile.

This flower produces terpenoids and flavonoids that have long been used for rest and relaxation, as it affects the benzodiazepine and GABA systems in the brain. Many other conditions have been treated with chamomile, such as hay fever, inflammation, muscle spasms, menstrual disorders, ulcers, wounds, gastrointestinal disorders (especially infantile colic), rheumatic pain, cancer, and hemorrhoids.

Passionflower Aerial Parts (Passiflora incarnata L.)

Many naturalists have used passionflower for anxiety, sleep, pain, arrhythmias, menstrual cramps, burns, ADHD, and hemorrhoids. Some report caution in pregnancy as it may cause contractions.

L-theanine.

Found primarily in black and green teas and some mushrooms, this amino acid has been studied in cognition fairly well, and has been shown to help focusing on and accomplishing tasks.

Ashwagandha Root Extract (Withania somnifera).

This super well-studied adaptogen lowers stress reaction while assisting in total sleep and sleep quality. In Ayurvedic medicine, ashwagandha helps improve overall energy and memory. Also, it is used to lower cancer risk and inflammatory cellular factors.

Magnesium bisglycinate (TRAACS®).

The mineral magnesium is used in over 600 biological reactions in the body, and therefore is essential for normal function. Simply put, the two main effects of magnesium are relaxing muscles and nerves. As such, it is calming to the brain as well as other peripheral nerves, and relaxes muscle spasms and tension. This TRAACS® formulation makes it extremely high absorption, ensuring effectiveness. Glycine is a calming neurotransmitter in the brain, promoting restfulness and calming, as well.

Hop Extract (Humulus lupulus).

Hop’s flavonoids, terpenes, and polyphenols have these effects: antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-genotoxic (promotes DNA repair), sedation, anti-cancer, promotes lower blood pressure and good blood flow,and more.
